McMains CDC Seeks Director of Development | 07/16/2015

McMains Children's Developmental Center (MCDC), a nonprofit, outpatient rehab clinic serving children with disabilities in a 12-parish area, is currently seeking a dynamic Director of Development. MCDC is a Capital Area United Way community partner and was recently selected to receive their prestigious 2014-15 Community Impact Award. Founded in 1954, MCDC is also United Cerebral Palsy Association affiliate.

SUMMARY: The Director of Development will further develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan for the organization to include but not be limited to annual giving, signature special events, and other marketing/development initiatives as well as grants and planned giving. The Director of Development will influence marketing/public relations/branding decisions, develop partnerships in the community and represent the organization. The Director of Development will manage donor data and data collection. The Director of Development will report directly to the Executive Director and also interact with the Board of Directors and other volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS: Ability to handle multiple projects, generate and prioritize assignments, and effectively communicate research and analysis information. Must exhibit initiative, resourcefulness and creativity, and work cooperatively in a positive team environment. Must have excellent aptitude for statistical analysis; advanced understanding of financial activity, budget management and events; and the ability to analyze their relevance to solicitation strategies and timing. Must have the ability to motivate and manage staff and volunteers to achieve goals, and deal with confidential matters with tact and sensitivity. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, and a commitment to stewardship, impact fundraising, and out-of-the-box thinking. Knowledge of e-Tapestry a plus.

Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in organizational development, marketing, public relations, or nonprofit fundraising experience required. Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in progressively responsible leadership positions preferred. Position is full-time salaried. Excellent benefits. Salary commensurate with experience.
