Red Nose Day 2005 a Success | 5/6/2005, back
The McMains Children's Developmental Center hosted its 3rd annual Red Nose Day on Friday, May 6th. Mayor-President Melvin L. Kip Holden was the chairperson for this years event which raised over $33,000 for the Center. Over 80 companies and schools in Greater Baton Rouge and surrounding areas wore Red Nose Day t-shirts, neckties, and noses on Red Nose Day a day all about having fun, making people laugh, and supporting local children with disabilities.
In addition to the festivities on May 6th, the McMains Center hosted a lunch for coordinators prior to the event with food provided by Carrabbas Italian Grill. Prizes were awarded after Red Nose Day to several coordinators such as a Prize for the Most Unique Event, and Best Photo Prize.
Sponsors for Red Nose Day included McDonalds of Baton Rouge, Albemarle Corporation, BASF Corporation, Cingular Wireless, Citizens Bank and Trust Co., Functional Mobility Systems, Inc., The Mall at Cortana, and State Farm Insurance Co.
